Mary Ungerleider - Film Maker
Mary has worked in the film industry for almost 40 years primarily as a documentary film editor. She has numerous film credits, including A Feeling Called Glory (Leo and Genie awards), Bitter Paradise (Best Political Documentary at Hot Docs), Haiti Betrayed (opening night film Internacional de Cine Político (FICiP), Beyond Top Secret (Emmy nomination), Life and Times of William Shatner (The History Channel‑US), and Not Quite That.
Mary has directed two feature documentaries — Mandrake, A Magical Life (Silver Award at the Houston Film Festival; Honorable Mention at the Columbus Film Festival) and Tofino: The Road Stops Here (featured on Knowledge Network and Montreal’s Télé‑Québec for several years). She was awarded Playback Awards and London Advertising Awards for commercials.
Mary has been a mentor editor for Women in the Director’s Chair and Banff, a resident editor at the Canadian Film Centre, and her work as President of Vancouver Women in Film and Video (GEMS) earned her a GEMS Lifetime Member award.
